Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT)
Sheryl A. Lamarand is a Certified Zentangle® Teacher (CZT), an experienced beader and accomplished artist and teacher for WireKnitZ®. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University, an MBA from Wayne State University and lives in East Lansing, Michigan.
Tangles and Beads is the latest manifestation of Sheryl’s artistic passions and endeavors. She started Bead*i*ful Stuff by sal about 15 years ago, creating and selling beaded jewelry using embroidery and off-loom beadweaving techniques. She ‘stumbled upon’ Zentangle® in 2009 and temporarily set aside her beads to investigate this new method of teaching art to artists and non-artists alike. She loved what she saw and became a CZT in October, 2010, creating Tangles and Beads to more fully align with her interests.
About the same time Sheryl met Norma Melton, founder of WireKnitZ®, and a trusted friendship was formed. Sheryl retired from higher education administration in 2011 and now bounces between her love of beads, jewelry and drawing through teaching and creating her own works of art using paper, beads and WireKnitZ®.
Sheryl is an alumna of the Alpha Phi Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and currently serves as Past-President of the Central Michigan Alumnae Chapter. She served as Treasurer of the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild from 2003 thru 2006 and continues to maintain her membership in this organization. She also maintains an active Zentangle® teaching schedule in Holt, Williamston, Birmingham, Big Rapids, Gaylord and Charlevoix, Michigan. in scrapbooking stores, art galleries, community school venues and private retreats and parties. She is proud to tell everyone that she now has eight students who have become CZTs, and has another planning to become certified in 2015.
Sheryl is available for private lessons in beadwork, Zentangle®, or jewelry-making with WireKnitZ®. She also will work with you to design special programs for birthday celebrations, team building workshops, conference or retreat breakout sessions or gatherings of friends and family.
